Silkstone and Silkstone Common are both villages that make up Silkstone Parish which is a civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, England. It is situated in the foothills of the Pennines, between the towns of Barnsley and Penistone. At the 2001 census it had a population of 2,954, increasing to 3,153 at the 2011 census; reducing slightly to 2,960 according to the 2021 census. Silkstone Parish is twinned with Saint-Florent-des-Bois in France.
